Ca Hostal is a residence located in the center of Gandía, in a family building next to the Plaza del Prado de Gandía. This building has undergone continuous transformations with expansions and elevations throughout the 20th century. Our intervention aims at the full renovation of the first-floor residence, demolishing all partition walls, installations, and coatings. A living space has been proposed that revolves around the central courtyard, alongside which are the living room, dining area, and kitchen, as well as the suite bedroom with walk-in closet and integrated bathroom. There is also a study area connected visually through a large glazed carpentry.
The intervention has been used to renew the systems with the latest technologies in aerothermal energy, radiant floor heating, and fan coils. Additionally, energy efficiency has been improved with internal treatment of the facades and exterior PVC carpentry, as well as high-insulation glazing. A structural reinforcement of the slab has also been executed to provide greater stability to the entire building.
