Ca Sales is a home located in the Russafa neighborhood, in a building with environmental protection. Despite the limitations of carrying out partial interventions in a building over 100 years old and protected, the entire team has enjoyed transforming both the space and its finishes.
Without losing the original layout of the home, we transformed a very compartmentalized space, with bedrooms without ventilation and small day rooms, into a home with a day area that includes a living room, dining room, and kitchen open to the interior courtyard, and two bedrooms facing the street.
Regarding materials, we removed the inappropriate elements added over the years to recover the building’s essence. We removed the false plaster ceiling, restored the wooden beams, and exposed the solid brick walls.
On the other hand, we incorporated wooden windows on the protected façade according to the original design and successfully improved the thermal and acoustic insulation of the entire home. With this intervention, we managed to bring a home from the early 20th century into the 21st century without losing its essence.
